The scene for this painting is a little flower stand that was next to the road in the neighborhood where I live. So one day when I drove by I decided to stop and take some pictures of this little flower stand. The owners of this flower stand had a little tin can set up so when you pick a bouquet of flowers you just put the money in this little tin can. I was intrigued by the style of the fence, I thought it was very cute to have the birdhouses on top of the post.

 The color of the little stand where the flowers were kept was always very bright and cheerful which attracted me to this scene. On the other side of the fence just out of view of this painting is of the little white house that the people lived in who kept the flower stand stock during the summer.
